Rainbow Missions is devoted to spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ and helping people to become disciples of Jesus Christ. From 26 November 1985 to 7 May 2010, Rainbow Missions was a nonprofit corporation, incorporated in the state of Colorado, U. S. A., with 501(c)3 tax exempt status with the U. S. A. Internal Revenue Service. The board of Rainbow Missions, Inc., determined that the best course of action would be to dissolve this corporation and carry on the same work through two other existing corporations. We have redirected missionary support processing to World Outreach Ministries, including support for the missionaries who were board members of Rainbow Missions, Inc. The best way to donate money to help support this work in general is to support Michael & Lori Johnson through World Outreach Ministries. You can still get a U. S. A. tax advantage for donating through World Outreach Ministries, but not for giving directly to Rainbow Missions, which is no longer a 501(c)3 tax exempt corporation.

The print and electronic publication ministries of Rainbow Missions, including Bible publication, have been transferred to another privately-held corporation (in a seemingly unrelated business) that will continue to use "Rainbow Missions" as an imprint name and keep the web site and print services running. Because this "business" activity doesn't actually make any money, at least so far, there is no difference in income tax, but there is a significant gain in terms of freedom of speech. Rainbow Missions, Inc., never engaged in any of the classes of speech that are forbidden to tax exempt organizations, but the new Rainbow Missions is free to do so should a good reason arise. We felt that this is a wise step to take in a world where some enemies of Jesus Christ have attempted to abuse legal processes in an effort to censor parts of the Holy Bible and those who believe in Jesus Christ and boldly quote those Scriptures.
