When we were first getting ready to create this nonprofit corporation, I asked the Lord what to name it. Just then, a rainbow appeared in the sky—no rain, no fog, no clouds—just a rainbow. Having paid attention in physics classes and seen many rainbows before, I was really fascinated with this particular rainbow. I was reminded of the covenant of the rainbow in Genesis 9 and the rainbow around the Father’s throne in Revelation 4. Thus, there is a rainbow in our name.
Years after the official incorporation of Rainbow Missions, Inc., I became aware of some uses of some other groups of people who use the same name and symbol. Some of these groups hold values contrary to what God has given in His great wisdom in the Holy Bible. We are not affiliated with them in any way. We are affiliated with the God of the covenant of the rainbow in Genesis 9 and His Son, Jesus Christ.
